This
important musical and event in New York City
includes
rare
performances of the composers' works, filmed interviews with the
composers and visual documentary footage from Chinese history,
particularly from the Cultural Revolution.
In January 2009 William Lane and award-winning Chinese film director Li
Guang travelled to Beijing to interview both these composers in their
homes. These interviews provided intriguing conversations, insights
into their music and their lives during many historical moments in
Chinese history. Audiences in New York City will be given a rare treat
to discover new music and stories that are little known outside China.More

The
Grenzenlos Foundation, in partnership with Spektral Records (Germany)
is proud to present this portrait CD of Austrian composer
Christian Utz's music, featuring Ensemble On_Line Vienna, Contemporary
Music Ensemble Korea and a group of renowned soloists. For
many
years Utz has initiated collaborations between Taiwanese/Chinese and
European musicians and composers, and is also a leading research in the
field of intercultural composition. This CD features four
intricately-conceived works for combinations of Asian and Western
instruments. I challenge you to discover how Asian and European idioms
connect and intertwine, attract and repel... in an intriguing artistic
dialogue. Browse Shop »
